Pray Maker Council

I was born in raised in St. Louis, but I now call Los Angeles home.  I came out here with the classic dream of becoming an actor, but ultimately had to admit that the reclusive life of words was more fitting of my quiet, private little ways.  Now I work as a freelance writer and spend my off hours hiking, reading, and enjoying the wonderful company of friends and family. I grew up in a loving Lutheran family that always emphasized prayer in every circumstance . . . in joy and in sadness.  Like nearly everyone else, my spiritual journey has been loaded with several turns and switch backs, some times carrying me further from those Lutheran roots and sometimes drawing me back to the place I come from.  And every step of the way, prayer has sustained me.  Knowing that God is near and is always ready to hear me—whether I understand him or not, is a constant comfort for my searching heart.

I believe that Faith is about relationships--our relationship with our Creator, and the relationships we are able to create with one another because of that first and most important bond.  For me, prayer is a means of sustaining and celebrating that relationship, of reconnecting with God and remembering who I am because of Him. This is what drew me to Prayables.  Building this community together feels to me like a celebration of faith and of all the many ways it sustains us, as individuals and as sisters.
