Publisher, Chief of Pray

I am spiritual, I am religious, I am not your typical holy roller. I am a woman who knows that I can pray any where, any time and in any way. Yet, when I pray with words that are expressive and beautiful, I find my sacred conversations are more meaningful and I am closer to my higher power. In my business life I am a sales and marketing professional.  Prior to starting Prayables, I was able to bring my skill set to the non-profit world where I worked for both Jewish and Christian advocacy groups. I discovered the language of prayer may be slightly different, but we are mostly praying for the same things. I experimented with new ways to pray in a multi-faith setting and found it was easy to do and tremendously rewarding.

Besides doing work that I love, I am blessed with a close and loving family. My husband David Diamond and our children Craig & Shani Diamond, Howie Diamond, Rachel & Gray Hosford and Michael Diamond provide me with the balance I need to be happy and productive. My grandchildren, Jake, Rosie & Max Diamond are a never-ending source of pure joy. My parents, Fern and Lorry Zimmerman are my biggest fans and it is because of  my family that I am able to enjoy life and surround myself with positivity.

I am at home in three diverse synagogues. Bnai Joshua Beth Elohim (BJBE), a Reform Jewish congregation in Deerfield, IL is my home base. I stay connected to my first synagogue family at Congregation Beth Shalom of Northbrook and I spend the winter months at The New Synagogue of Palm Beach, a modern Orthodox Jewish congregation that has welcomed me with open arms.

It is an honor to lead the Prayables project. I have been inspired by great friends, honorable clergy, music and a very special prayerbook. Debbie Winton, Len Rubin, Rabbi Carl Wolkin, Cantor Steven Stoehr, Rev. Bill Hybels, Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz, Rabbi Karyn Kedar, Cantor Jennifer Frost, Rabbi Brian Stoller, Rev. Steven Miller, Debbie Friedman and Mishkan T’Filah. In building an online prayer community I am privileged to offer a sacred space where God can dwell among us.
