It was as typical a divorce, as divorce can be. Sherry and Paul were fifty-something’s; clearly no longer suited for a compatible life together. A few years later Sherry met Robert. She really wasn’t “that into him” but he was a good guy and she enjoyed his company.

After five months of dating Robert, she broke up with him. She figured there was someone better out there for her. Sherry had a long list of requirements for her happily-ever-after, and Robert fell short.

Funny thing about her plan… it turns out Robert was her intended after-all. God gave Sherry a nudge. It took not having Robert in her life, to show her how much she missed him. Thinking too much about what we want, can distract us from connecting with a person who fills our needs. The significant others in our lives can be the completed task on a self-centered list of wants, or a partner in the joys and challenges of our needs. Are you asking the question, what is it I want, or who is it I need?.

every princess finds her prince.
It's inevitable.

My kingdom, on the other hand,
is full of frogs.
No matter how often I kiss them,
they remain stubbornly amphibious.
