Words That Say Love

"I'm sorry."

"Forgive me."

"I'm here."

"I love you."

It is amazing how a few kind words can heal even the most grievous wounds. Interestingly, these same phrases seldom are said to the one person who needs to hear them most...ourselves. When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said, Forgive me, I love you?

It took me many years to forgive myself for not being the perfect daughter, perfect wife, and perfect mother. Healing happened when I was able to understand that it’s OK not to be perfect. It’s only necessary to try to be the best I could be. I won’t lie, it's not easy. We feel foolish, which is a shame really.

When we are not able to love, forgive or care for ourselves, we cannot truly be there for anyone else. With forgiveness, comes new opportunities to love and care for yourself and others. May you learn to always see the Sacred in yourself as well as others.

Let me love You
with everything.
Let my intellect adore You,
my body understand You,
my heart envelop You.
Teach me to open entirely,
that I may learn to reach for You
with more than my words,
for I am made
of more than words myself,
and I am made
to commune with You.
