The treatments are done.
The doctors tell me
that the cancer is in remission.
Remission.
Not gone.
Not forgotten.

Help me let go of the fear
that is waiting to pounce.
Instead, help me feel
the sun on my face.

Help me laugh at the joy
You bring into the world.
Help me feel the loving arms
of family and friends around me.
Help me laugh, cry, and live
through each day.
