“You have to forgive him.
It’s the right thing to do.”

Why do they tell me to forgive and forget
when he beats me down with his words?
If I continue to live this life—  
I will hate myself.

Please, lend me Your strength.
Let me lean on You as I walk away.
Lend me Your mercy, so that hate and fear
flow out of my heart and forgiveness will rush in.

Fill me with Your love and Your hope,
so that I will face tomorrow awash in Your grace.
