This is the world I live in.
This is where my heart resides.
Most of life takes me away
from the people and the place that I love.
We work overtime our whole lives
with the hope that one day
we'll have time to savor.
At work, there are challenges aplenty.
Long, boring meetings, deadlines and delays.
With the filter of faith, I can honestly say,
I'm grateful for the paycheck my job provides.
I'm glad I can do my part to be productive
and provide for my family.
Please make me mindful that the best things in life
are always waiting for me, safe at home.

This morning I awake
with a mountain of debt
on my shoulders;
I feel my feet slip
as an avalanche of bills
sends me sliding out of control.

As I wondered
where the money came from, 
I said to myself:
What do you think?
That money would fall from the sky?

Then I realized, 
that’s where all my money 
has ever come from,
even if I earned it on a job 
or found it on the street.

Thank You for providing for me, 
now and always.

Help me to do my part.
Guide me in the direction 
of my next step 
and help me take it.
