Showing Up for Life

All I want to do today is eat and drink
and lie numb on the sofa.
I do not want to think about my obstacles.
Today it feels easier and safer to give in to my addiction.

Please provide me with the courage to fight my disease.
Give me the strength to show up for my life.
I have faith in Your presence and know
in this moment, I am not alone.
Today I will refrain from self-destruction
and work the tools of recovery.
