Grace training began three years ago
with the first heartfelt prayer of my life:
Help me.
This isn't the life I would have chosen,
If I had my druthers.

As if I hadn't created my own life through years of
Settling for,
Making do,
Getting by.

Thank You for this moment of clarity.
Every morning is a chance to start over.
My soul is worth nurturing and this life is worth living.
Thank You, I have the whole world in front of me
and the entire universe behind me.
