I am not just looking for a paycheck. True, I’m delighted on the 1st and the 15th of every month when I know my bank balance will look a lot prettier than it did the day before. But I want my work to have meaning and I want to be proud of the company I work for. I’m not alone. According to Jason Saul, author of Social Innovation Inc., eighty-five million Boomers, fifty million Gen Xers and seventy-six million Millenials, all live with a social consciousness hard-wired to make a difference in the world.

Business is responding. Across the globe, companies have gotten rid of self-serving cause marketing campaigns and are getting smart about finding real solutions to social problems. It’s possible to improve profits and improve lives when a talented and motivated workforce is given a chance to make a difference in the world.
