Blog: Graduation Season

Dear Friend,

Today, we will attend the graduation of our eldest. We have a graduate. And we are so proud of her.

While it’s easy to measure the knowledge she’s gained, the skills she’s mastered, and the experiences she’s collected, what we truly esteem is the woman she’s becoming. What moves us most is the inner work—quiet and unseen—that has shaped her.

She is resilient beyond measure. She has learned to love through rejection. To remain kind amidst cruelty and indifference. To hold peace in the center of a storm. To see past faults and let go—of people, of expectations, of control. She has learned to be content in all things. To be quiet. To have less. To give more. To hold back when tempted to lash out. And to give thanks—even when the gift looks different than what she hoped for.

She—who once saw only strangers—now calls us her family, and means it with love. She has embraced what is, and in doing so, she sees clearly: there is a loving, powerful, gracious, and able Hand that provides and cares for her.

So today, we don’t just celebrate grades or goals or accolades. We celebrate something deeper—a girl shaped into a woman. Tried, tested, and coming forth as gold.

Wish with me a heartfelt congratulations to Haylee.

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24–26

Until next time,
Mrs. Farmer Jones
