A successful businessman goes into a church to pray. He finds a seat in one of the pews and starts to pray.
But one man is sitting in the first row of pews. The man is fervently and loudly praying to God.
“Please God, I am so poor, I cannot pay the heating bill.” And, “Dear God, I don’t have enough money to put food on my table.” He speaks louder as he goes on, “God, Almighty, help me please!”
The businessman walks over to the praying man and says, “I am sorry to know about your situation. Here’s $500 to help you get back on your feet.”
The man is ecstatic! He hugs the businessman, thanks him profusely, and skips out of the church, delighted.”
The businessman goes back to the pew. Bows his head, clasps his hands, and says, “Dear God, now that I have your undivided attention…”
