There was a young couple who had been married for five years.
When the woman went to see her doctor, she was asked, “Are you and your husband planning on having children?”
“No. We decided not to start a family, because children are badly behaved today. The kids we see are rude and nasty. They’re too much trouble and we don’t want to take the chance that our kids would be like that.”
The doctor said, “There is a pill you can take during your pregnancy that guarantees you will have polite, well-behaved, considerate children.”
The woman went home and discussed it with her husband. They agreed with a guarantee like that, they would go ahead and get pregnant.
At her next doctor visit, the doctor announced that the woman was indeed pregnant. She prescribed the pill that would ensure that the baby she’s carrying would be polite and well-mannered.
The woman took the pill every morning. When she was in her second trimester, the couple discovered she was carrying twins!
Instinctively, the mother doubled up on the pill. The couple didn’t want one well-behaved child and one rotten and rude child.
The day finally came when she went into labor. They went to the hospital, and after many hours of labor, the woman was wheeled into the delivery room, where the twins were still not coming out on their own.
The doctor scrubbed for a C-section and began the procedure.
“WOW!” the doctor exclaimed. “I have never seen anything like this!”
He asked the woman if she had taken the “courtesy pill” that ensures a polite child.
“Yes, I did. In fact, I took two pills every day once we found out I was carrying twins.”
The doctor gasped! “These babies are so excessively polite that the first one was waiting for the second one to go ahead!”
