A relentless pace can sometimes become overwhelming.
Last week, I found myself bogged down, crammed with too much busyness and hustle. My spirit was reeling from the constant bombardment of information, news, and the stress and turmoil of the world.
It became clear that I urgently needed time and space to sit still, catch up to myself, and address the restlessness swirling within me. I needed to hone in on it like a pesky fly and eliminate its noise and harassment.
For me, solace came from turning to the Scriptures, seeking a truth higher than my own understanding. By God’s grace, Romans 15:4 was the scheduled reading: “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.”
Further down, verse 13 reads, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” These words offered a deep hush of truth, replacing the heavy load of life with a dependence on something greater.
Our farm, family business, and ministries thrive on the principle of abundance, not on the leftovers after fulfilling commitments and scheduling tasks. We believe that true, impactful work arises from understanding that we are vessels meant to be filled to overflowing.
It is from this state of abundance that we can bring about transformation, both in the land we steward and in the lives we touch. By prioritizing a full and generous spirit, we ensure that our efforts are meaningful and our contributions lasting.
