Gladys Dunn, having just moved to town, decided to visit the church nearest to her new apartment on her first Sunday.
She walked into a beautiful sanctuary and enjoyed the choir’s music as the service began.
However, when the sermon started, it went on and on without substance, and she found it quite boring.
Looking around, she noticed many of the congregants nodding off, hardly even trying to stay awake. Finally, the sermon ended, and everyone stood for the final hymn.
After the service, Gladys turned to the gentleman beside her, who still looked a bit sleepy. She extended her hand and said, “Hello, I’m Gladys Dunn.”
The man replied, “You and me both!”
