Sylvia and Harold enjoyed a good life together. They were good people, kind and generous.
Sylvia was what you would call a health food nut. She was into every fad diet. She cooked keto, paleo, and vegan. She tried Atkins and Pritikin. Harold ate what she served, and they both lived to the ripe old age of 95, dying just hours apart.
An angel was waiting for them both to arrive in heaven.
“Right this way,” the angel said. “I’m taking you to a very special section of heaven where you’ll spend eternity.”
Sylvia and Harold were led to an area in heaven with gorgeous homes. As they walked down the street, they marveled at the meticulously manicured lawns and the long driveways leading to palatial homes. The further they walked with the angel, the larger the houses became.
Finally, the angel stopped in front of a mansion at the end of the cul-de-sac.
“This is your eternal home.”
It was breathtaking. They were in awe of their surroundings as they walked the estate.
There was a golf course for Harold, an infinity swimming pool for Sylvia, gardens, fountains, and a pair of convertible sports cars polished to a mirror shine.
As the angel completed the tour of their new abode, a furious Harold turned to Sylvia in anger and said,
“It’s all your fault!”
“Harold, what are you talking about? This place is beyond our dreams, we have an eternity to enjoy ourselves in luxury.”
“That’s fine, Sylvia, but if not for your healthy cooking and all the dieting, we could have been here much sooner enjoying it all!”
