A Jewish man goes to his rabbi and says, “My son told me he is converting to Christianity. I sent him to Hebrew school, and he had a Bar Mitzvah. We celebrated the Jewish holidays. I don’t know where it all went wrong.”
“Funny you should say that,” the Rabbi said to the man. I, too, have a son who left the faith to become a Christian. I raised him like the Rabbi’s son he is. He came with me to synagogue every day to pray. I sent him to Jewish Day school, Jewish summer camps, and then to Jerusalem to study in a Yeshiva.”
The man was shocked. “What did you do about it?”
“I talked to God.”
“What did God say?”
“God said, ‘I too had a son…”
