I’m concerned why you thought “Outrageous Biblical Heroes” was appropriate? There’s more to the Old Testament than what he portrayed. Much more. I think for us, disciples in the Word, we dig to find what’s going on. But this article is fodder for those who want to blame God.

You ask a very good question: Why I included the article in the daily devotional. I thought it was interesting. It made me think. I reacted to it. Just like you did.
Prayables is a community of forward thinking people of faith who encounter the blamers, doubters, and non-believers every day. It’s critical for us to be aware of how other folks think, what they see, and how they perceive the Bible. Only then can we prepare ourselves for good conversations that express our views and possibly change hearts.
I understand how people can find some Bible stories “a little hard to swallow”. The article I shared showcased many extreme examples. I also share the most meaningful examples every day in the Bible graphics I create. I select the ones that relate to our everyday joys and struggles.
My little ploy worked. Just the other day I got a text from my son (not a believer) who saved the Jeremiah 2:25 Prayable Bible quote from his Instagram. (he follows Prayables out of loyalty – not interest) His comment to me was “good one!” I don’t think he thought it was anything more than a motivational quote.
And with that, my son got a little taste of the beauty of Bible.
