A young content creator was conducting a social experiment in New York City, designed to test human kindness. He approached strangers, offering them either $100 or the option to double it and pass it to the next person.
Most people took the cash, but many were willing to pass it on.
Finally, he approached an older man walking near a busy intersection. The creator offered the man $100.
“You can keep this,” the creator said, “or, if you want, I will double it to $200 and give it to the next person we see.”
The man smiled, looked at the money, and then looked over his shoulder.
“Wait,” the man said. “We are right here in front of my church.”
He pointed to the building and smiled warmly.
“Don’t give it to a stranger on the street,” the man said. “Take that $200, walk in there, and give it to the office. The community there is having a hard time, and it is needed by far more people in there than anyone walking around out here.”
The creator, moved by the man’s decision to prioritize his community over personal gain, agreed and filmed the donation, highlighting the power of giving charity.
