When I say I have faith
I’m not shouting “I found God”
I’m whispering “I get lost.”
That’s why I chose this way.
When I say I have faith
I don’t speak of it with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble.
I need God to be my guide.
When I say I have faith
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing I’m weak
I’m praying for strength to carry on.
When I say I have faith
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know that I’m loved.
When I say I have faith
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed.
I try to live my life a little better.
When I say I have faith
I still feel doubt.
I get confused and discouraged.
I pray and thank God for giving me faith.
