{quotes}

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
Albert Schweitzer

Write your sad times in sand, your good times in stone.
George Bernard Shaw

The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.
Frank Herbert

God answers sharp and sudden on some prayers, and thrusts the thing we have prayed for in our face, a gauntlet with a gift in it.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Surely no good thing will come out of a life with too many wasted hours.

{prayers}

Learning Process
My dear God. Awaken the talent within me. May I be worthy of the gifts I have received. Grace me with dedication and discipline as I go about the process of learning.

Stand Alone
In a world where people surround me, I stand alone. Yet, You are always with me, dear God. I have You to talk to, listen to, and be still with, in blessed silence. Thank You for Your holy presence.

Have Patience
Dear God, have patience with me. One day soon, it will all make sense. The sound advice and dire warnings, the sense of loss, the promise of gain. I’ll catch on, and I promise, I will be worthy of the grace shown to me. Blessed are You, who gives me yet another chance to make it right.

Divine Order
Dear God, how I long for Your Divine order. My life is jumbled, confusing, and oh so difficult. Set my ways straight. Allow me to walk freely through the calm. Bring peace to my soul and harmony to the family and friends I adore. Amen

As I Am
Some praise You with voices raised in song. Others paint awe-inspiring canvases or raise buildings into the sky. Let me praise You with the talents You have given me. I can reach out a hand to steady my elderly neighbor, or raise my heart in prayer for a sorrowing friend. I can speak comfort to a discouraged teen or smile at the mother of an energetic child. In all these ways, I praise You, who made me as I am.

{blessings}

Can Do
If two can, one can, you can. May God bless you with a can-do spirit!

Every Little Thing
Be blessed to thank God for every little thing, the great big things, and everything in between.

The Good Apple
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. May God bless you with positive character traits that emulate only the good in the ones who came before you.

Out of the Nest
You are an adult. You were thrown out of the nest long ago when you grew wings. You built your own home and it’s feathered with loving kindness. May God bless you to be a protector of the young, a champion for the weak, and a strong advocate for yourself.

Really Do the Best You Can
We all say it. “I am doing the best I can.” This can be either an excuse or an explanation. Be sure you are living a life that needs no excuses. May God bless you with discipline, generosity and restraint.

{bible affirmations}

Be content with what you have.
Hebrews 13:5  (inspired)

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5

The mountains may disappear and the hills may come to an end, but My love will never disappear. My promise of peace will not end. Says the Lord who shows mercy.
Isaiah 54:10

I don’t understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I can’t. I do what I don’t want to – what I hate. I shall dwell in my regrets and remorse forever…unless…
Romans 7:15

God’s joy is within me and my joy is complete.
