{quotes}
Mostly the winds of change are blowing you in a better direction. After all, it’s God who makes the wind.
When skies are gray, a cheerful heart makes its own sunshine.
Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. Minnie Louise Haskins
Stand together you seekers, doubters, people of faith.
To succeed you must not be afraid of success and accepting of the failures along the way.
Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone. Pablo Picasso
{blessings}
Aging Spiritually
Don’t get old, grow as you age. You may not be the youngster you once were, but that doesn’t mean you’re old. You are wiser, more experienced and always growing spiritually. May God bless you to respond to your birthdays with vigor and excitement. Aging will be a beautiful process when you embrace it.
Inner Work
Work on your inner work. The work that keeps your soul productive and your spirit excited. The work of your day job, family responsibilities, and all the activities that keep you busy, are all important. But don’t neglect your inward focus. May God bless you with goodness, inside and out.
Lust for Learning
A little learning creates demand for more learning. Start small, but start now. Let your curiosity take hold; ask questions, find answers, and feed your hungry mind. May God bless you with knowledge, wisdom (two different things) and a lust for learning.
Giving in Forgiving
There’s giving in forgiving. You’re giving away your pain and resentment. You’re giving away stubborn pride. You’re giving a gift of God’s mercy to another. May you be blessed to be joyfully forgiving and to be gratefully forgiven.
Time for God
Going to a yoga class. Stopping to get a coffee. Making the morning phone call to someone you love. Typical day, typical stuff for some. The routine varies. You may have a day of relative ease, or face a daily struggle. May you be blessed with a happy compromise of time for self, time for others, and time for God.
{prayers}
Repentance
Dear God, I have strayed from the path. I have given in to temptation, I have not given enough to righteous living. I am ashamed, yet determined to turn back, to walk in my greatest good. Lord, be with me.
Beholden
O God of the Lunar Light reflect Your mercies upon me. Cast my gaze upon the many miracles, the joy sustained, the hallelujah of the midnight sky. My slumbering soul is unaware. I walk in beauty, made lovely by a billion nightlights, surrounded by blessings and grace. How have I become unnoticing? What great pain has rendered me unaware, dazed? Lift me, shake me, toss me out into the wonder. I am so small, so gratefully small. You are the context. I am beholden. Teach me to exclaim, to proclaim, to abide the quiet and embrace the grandeur faithfully. To say and shout and sing Your holy praises. Hallelujah.
by Karyn Kedar
Time is Short
Time is short, my to-do list is long. I am overwhelmed and unprepared to take on the immense responsibility I face each day. Dear God help me. Shore me up, set me straight, give me strength. Thank You for my challenges, praise to You for reward that comes in the overcoming of them.
Simple Day
A simple day is what I pray for. Problem free with no drama or angst. A day to simply be me, to love and do goodness, to work without worry, to enjoy twenty-four hours of ordinary pleasures.
Hard to Be a Saint
It’s hard for this sinner to be a saint. God help me, You know I try. Help me find the balance to make my life a blessing. I ask forgiveness for the sins I have committed and offer amends. Show me how to steer clear of temptation and guide me to a better way.
