Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine. Everything in the future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now.
Sri Yukteswar Giri
Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the full staircase.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A day without prayer is a day without blessing. A life without prayer is a life without power.
Edwin Harvey
Perfect prayer does not consist in many words. Silent remembering and pure intention raises the heart to that supreme Power.
Amit Ray
All of us have bad luck and good luck. The one who persists through the bad luck – who keeps right on going – is the one who is there when the good luck comes – and is ready to receive it.
Robert Collier
{blessings}
Gift to God
What the good Lord gives you is a gift from God. What you do with it is your gift to God. May you be generous with your gifts, and may you live your life as a blessing.
Universal Blessing
That which is so universal as death must be a blessing. May your loved ones be at peace with God in heaven.
God Heals
No matter what your body is telling you, listen to your heart. It says; God heals. May you be blessed with the best of health and wholeness.
Reach Out
Everything is ultimately in God’s hands. But you are the extension of God’s loving arms here on earth. May you be blessed to reach out with good deeds, kindness, and generosity of spirit.
Beacon of Blessing
Look out for the good coming your way. Today will be your day to shine and be bright. You’re a beacon, a blessing, and a delight as you go about the exercise of everyday living.
{prayers}
Welcoming
Dear God, Open our hearts to receive all who hunger for love, all who are lonely for friendship, all who have cares to unburden. May our souls be welcoming, nurturing, and encouraging. Let us be compassionate in all our ways. Amen
Beauty and Goodness
Dear God, I pray to see the beauty in the world and the goodness in people. Show me how to raise my head in confidence, yet lower it with humility before You.
Holy, Holy of All!
Dear God, Help me to be a lifelong learner. May I always gain knowledge, grow in understanding, and find wisdom. Praise to You, Holy Holy of all Teachers!
Morning Light to Night
O Lord, I open my eyes in appreciation of Your glorious morning light. And when day turns to night, help me close my eyes in restful slumber, until the sun rises again.
More Cheer
Dear God, As I stumble through this life, help me create more laughter than tears, dispense more cheer than gloom, and spread more cheer than despair. Always remind me to give more than I receive.

Feature: “You must not go around as a gossipmonger.” Leviticus 19:16 According to the ancient sages, gossip “kills” three people: the speaker, the listener, and the object of the gossip. That the speaker and listener deserve to be punished is understandable, but why should the person about whom they are gossiping suffer? The answer is that speaking about another person’s shortcomings does more than just belittle him. Words have the power to bring latent energy into actuality. When we speak about a person’s negative traits, it activates them and reinforces them. As a result, his behavior takes a turn for the worse and he thus incurs punishment. Conversely, when we speak about the good traits of another person, we reveal and reinforce those traits. We can thus be a positive or negative influence on people; the choice is ours. It is not only prohibited to speak derogatorily about someone; it is also prohibited to think about them derogatorily. In some ways, thinking negatively about someone is more serious than speaking negatively about them. by Moshe Wisnefsky (adapted)
