A woman was driving her car when she heard a loud noise from under the vehicle. She quickly pulled into the closest car dealership for help. The service man told her the car wasn’t safe to drive and offered to call her a tow truck.
When the tow truck arrived, she paid the driver to tow her car and drop her at a nearby repair shop. Shortly after they set off, they engaged in conversation.
The young man shared his disappointment about the used car he had purchased for his 16-year-old daughter living with his ex-wife. He referred to them both as “Jesus freaks.” He was mad that his daughter spray painted “I LOVE JESUS” on the hood of the car. He was angry. He said, “I don’t know if there is a God, but she ruined the car!”
The woman listened quietly, not knowing what to say. Then she looked at the man and said, “When I was 16, I tried to commit suicide after being raped by a 28 yr old man. I went to the garage and got into the car. I turned it on, letting it run with the garage doors down. I cried, and cried until I finally passed out from all the fumes.” She paused, “I shouldn’t be here.”
She continued. “But God reached down and grabbed my shoulder. He shook me hard as He shouted, ‘WAKE UP!!’ in my left ear. I sat up, awake but confused. I looked around, expecting to see someone, but no one was there. The car door and window were still closed.”
Silence fell between them. She stared ahead out the front windshield and said, “That moment was a miracle, a blessing, an act of God. You are free to believe whatever you want, but I know the truth, God does exist.”
At this point, they had reached their destination and the end of the conversation. She thanked the driver, and they parted ways.
God reveals himself to those who believe.
