Sign as seen in a local restaurant:
If you are hungry, and you don’t have enough money for a meal, order whatever you would like, come to the cash register and say:
“Put it on my neighbor’s account.” You will not be charged for your food.
If you are able to help a needy person, when you get to the cash register say:
“I would like to add money to my neighbor’s account.”
Let the cashier know how much you would like to give. That amount will be charged to you and added to the “neighbors ledger”. With this system, you will help those less fortunate in a way that preserves the dignity of a person in need.
