It’s a time of oppression. The citizens form a resistance. The corrupt government is silencing dissidents.
One farmer is a gun runner. He buys guns and smuggles them into the country. The man gets caught and is thrown into a jail cell.
A letter comes from his wife. “I understand you’re a hero now, but what about your family? We have no means of income without our crops, and it’s time to plow the fields and plant the potatoes. What are we to do? How will we eat?”
The man writes a letter back to his wife and says, “Whatever you do, don’t plow the fields. I’ve buried guns in those fields, and I don’t want any danger to come to you and our family.”
Naturally, his mail is monitored. The following day, government trucks begin to arrive at the family farm. Workers armed with shovels descend upon the land. They dig up every square inch. They find nothing and leave at the end of the day.
When the farmer’s wife writes a letter to her husband telling him what happened, she promptly receives a message from him.
“Great! The government has now plowed the land, and all you have left to do is plant the seeds for the crops.”
The moral of the story? You decide.
