A teacher who took her students out and released 20 balloons, each with a student’s name on it.
“You’ve got sixty seconds to find the balloon with your name on it.” She said
The children hurried to find the one balloon with their name on it, but the sixty seconds came quickly, and few could find their own balloon.
Next, the teacher gathered up the balloons again and said, “This time, I want everybody to grab one balloon and find the person whose name is on that balloon, and give it to them.”
And sure enough, the sixty seconds was enough time for everyone to have their own balloon with their own name on it.
“When you help each other find their balloon, everyone wins.” The teacher went on to compare the balloons to blessings. Blessings are more abundant when everybody is looking out for each other’s blessings, not just their own.
It’s the same with prayers. When we only pray for our own interests, we come up short. But when we pray for others, that’s when we are all winners.
