Q-Card Volume 146

Week Ending Friday December 20, 2019

{quotes}

No story comes alive until someone hears it.

Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty.
Doris Day

Gratitude and joy. That’s it – nothing more.

Fear came knocking on the door. Faith answered – and no one was there.

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch heaven.
Johannes Gaertner

Overheard: He’s not perfect but he tries.

{blessings}

Closer to God
When you’re feeling anxious, angry or depressed – take a walk. Head on outside, stand directly under God’s heaven and let your two feet do the walking while your heart does the talking. May God bless you with forward motion and prayers that reach up to the sky. Go outside and get closer to God.

The Point
Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil – it has no point. May God bless you with purpose, and may you be guided to your purpose through your love of the Divine.

Rightly Inconvenient
Doing what is right often loses out to doing what is convenient. Don’t let that happen to you. May you be blessed to embrace an inconvenient situation and may your sacrifice help grow your commitment to righteous living.

Boundless Belief
Never be limited by other peoples ideas for you. Let your imagination run wild. May God bless you with boundless belief in yourself. Place your trust in God and your dreams will come true.

No Comparison
It’s no comparison. When you choose to compare yourself to someone else you can never be the winner. You either lose on the side of pride or self deprecation. Being one of God’s precious children is your blessing…and theirs. Don’t ruin it.

{prayers}

Abide With Me
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me. Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changest not, abide with me. Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word; But as Thou dwell’st with Thy disciples, Lord, Familiar, condescending, patient, free. Come not to sojourn but abide with me. Come not in terrors, as the King of kings, But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings, Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea, Come, friend of sinners, and thus bide with me. Thou on my head in early youth didst smile; And, though rebellious and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee, On to the close, O Lord, abide with me. I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me. Hold Thou Thy hands before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.   Henry F. Lyte

Prayer for Grandma
She is a mother’s love times two. Double the wisdom, double the patience, double the apple-pie goodness. Thank You for my grandmother. The source of my being, the reason I am me, a gift that never stops giving. Show favor to this honorable woman. Encourage her as she faces the trials of aging. Let her know she is loved when words fail me. Praise to You who generates and regenerates one generation after another.

Friendship to All
I wish.
I hope. I pray. God, bring the gift of friendship to all who need it. Let them know the grace of having an understanding friend, the joy of someone to laugh with. the sweet sense of belonging.

Here is Now
Dear God allow me to be present, in the moment, when I need to be. The
past has passed, next is not here yet, there is far away, here is now.

By Your Grace
Thank you God for a curious mind, a yearning soul and impatience. I live to serve You. My purpose is clear – to do what I can, in holiness,
with humility, by Your grace.
